list of IT assets
« on: June 09, 2023, 09:36:55 am »
Hello everyone, does anyone know how to do it or know an open source program that can identify the list of PCs/printers on the network (in domain). The purpose is to make a list of IT assets.
Thank you
Win10, Ubuntu and Mac
Lazarus: 2.1.0
FPC: 3.3.1

Advanced IP Scanner maybe? It is freeware.

Industry standard is more or less pcap and its ports like Npcap winpcap ettc.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pcap.
All flavors can detect a list of connected computers in a network. They can also do much more.
FreePascal has bindings and examples for pcap. Winpcap has also Freepascal/delphi bindings.
Object Pascal programmers should get rid of their "component fetish" especially with the non-visuals.

here is an article I found about asset management software
https://www.goodfirms.co/it-asset-management-software/blog/best-free-open-source-it-asset-management-software

sorry I have not experience with any of them so I can't recommend anything.
