I have a SQL::2016 compliant SQL Server - written in Delphi. I am interested in:
a) Porting to FPC - some of the Delphi calls do not simply port to FPC.
b) Defining a better transport protocol - right now, I use a very simplistic ASCII(7bit) syntax - and have Client TDataset components (however, I do not want to limit myself to Pascal developers only). I am ignorant about the existing DB interfaces - maybe it is possible to implement ADO.

If you are interested, and feel your FPC knowledge (Mac, Linux) is strong - please email me at ozznixon (at) gmail (dot) com (PS. If you do not hear back from me in 2 days, try again - prior to this post, I get over 2,000 msgs a day).

PS. SQL Server code is over 20 years mature. With hundreds of end-user developers in Delphi - We want to make this a large "Powered by FPC" project.

Best Regards,
Ozz

  • Fifty shades of code.
    • Delphi & FreePascal
Why not make it open source on a platform of your choice, so contributors can contribute without hassle of emailing etc...

Contains code I cannot share publically. Plus, if it is open source, who is going to provide commercial support? (I won't have time to review every person's code).

I see. So you're not looking for a collaborator... you're looking for a contractor. At what rate? NDA and non-compete required?
