Assembler as not found ... Fatal

Hi,

i download lazarus on 2 computers with mandrake 9.1. On the fist, all is correct 8), but on the second, when i want run a project, i obtain:

Unit1.pas(31) Error: Assembler as not found, switching to external assembling
Unit1.pas(31) Fatal: There were 1 error compiling module, stopping  :(

I don't find any thing about it in faq, forums,...

Maybe somebody has an idea?

Some questions to get a better understanding of your problem:

Is that all the output you get?

Do you have the gnu binutils installed and on your path?

What  is the output of the command "which as"?

you found the problem: binutils was not installed.
It's done now, and units are successfull compiled.
