When PC "sleeps" program dies

It it possible to include something in a Lazarus application so that it doesn't crash when the PC sleeps, but enters some state that will allow it to properly continue when the PC is woken up?

That probably depends on what exactly your program is doing, because by itself an application doesn't crash when the computer goes to sleep.
