4K: Scaling forms at design-time
« on: September 21, 2022, 12:46:15 pm »
Hello,
I've upgraded my monitor, so now I've a 4K resolution.
In Tools - Options I've setted the char size of the IDE and it is ok.
The problem is with the forms of the IDE.
All the forms of my project have a maximum length of 1024, because the software must be compatible with resolutions 1024 * 768, in case of higher resolution the forms are scalded via code.
However in the IDE these forms are now microscopic and it is impossible to work with them, insert or modify controls.
Sometimes I save the project and load it from my notebook which has a lower resolution, then I open it again from my 4K pc.
How can I do to enlarge the forms in the IDE, ie whose width remains 1024, but allowing me to display them at 200% or 300%?
I've upgrated to Lazarus 2.2.4, but the problem still remains.
I uses Lazarus on Linux 64 (Debian Buster and XUbuntu 22.04 LTS).
Thank you very much.
Best regards,
Stephanie

Hello, anyone has any idea to help me?
With a 4K resolution I cannot work at all on the forms.
I' forced to load the project on my notebook in order to work with forms and controls.
After that I can work with the 4K pc on the PAS code.
LCL scaling is enabled in the project options, but there are no differences with LCL scaling disabled.
I join the same form with 1920*1080 and 3840*2160.
I use Lazarus on Linux and XFCE (Debian Buster and XUbuntu 22.04).
XFCE default character set has length 24 on 4k environnement.
Thank your for any help.
Best regards,
Stephanie
