Lazarus GitLab mirror stopped pulling from upstream
« on: July 29, 2022, 08:20:36 am »
My GitLab Lazarus mirror stopped pulling from upstream a couple of days ago.  It seems to be stuck in a pull request, because the status says "updating".  I tried deleting and recreating the mirror option, but still gives the same error.

Any ideas on how to get this working again?

Strange, I would expect it to show an error...

Anyway, does your local clone have a remote for the official repo? If not add one.
Then update your local data from the official remote, and push the branches to your fork/mirror. After that it should mirror again.

Or maybe it's even enough if you set your "main" to the commit 58ba82e9fe80d82caa59929c6a9b2618952cfd70 -> which is from upstream main, and which you already pushed (as part of one of your branches). Though looking at the graph, Gitlab knows it is from upstream.

For all else, search the gitlab bugtracker? Maybe it is a known issue.

Seems like a known issue: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/368209. Hopefully the fix will be rolled out soon...

For now I will try your suggestion of adding the official repo to my local clone.

Hello.

Do you have more luck with GitLab mirrors?

Here on my GitLab mirrors, only one site was updated the 04 /08/22 (but not the others) and till this date nothing else updated..  :'(
I use Lazarus 2.2.0 32/64 and FPC 3.2.2 32/64 on Debian 11 64 bit, Windows 10, Windows 7 32/64, Windows XP 32,  FreeBSD 64.
Widgetset: fpGUI, MSEgui, Win32, GTK2, Qt.

Both my Gitlab based FPC and Lazarus mirrors are up to date.  I do not think I did anything special to get the updates to work.  It started working soon after this fix was merged.

Ha, ok, so GitLab mirroring feature is still enabled, nice.

Maybe I have to delete + recreate the mirrors (I sent a message https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/368209#note_1071284762 )
Anyway, many thanks for the info.
