Use IDE on 2nd screen

(1/1)

jonnybravo:
What is the easiest way to use the IDE on a 2nd screen?
Right now it seems I need to move all the windows one by one.
What are my options?  Is there such a thing as docking windows?

Lazarus 2.2.0 (rev lazarus_2_2_0) FPC 3.2.2 x86_64-win64-win32/win64

Thanks

dseligo:
Yes, you can install AnchorDockingDsgn package.

jonnybravo:
Installed, but not what I was expecting.

I thought dragging the Lazarus IDE form/title bar would allow me to drag the whole IDE, so all windows onto my other screen (and not one-by-one as before installing the package).

IDE docking "headers" are not showing
Navigated to "Tools" - "Options" - "Environment", but there are no such "Docking / Anchordocking" options group or related attributes.

Meanwhile I restarted the IDE a few times.

I will create a bug report.

af0815:
Have you (clean) rebuild the IDE after installing the package ? Tools -> Configure "Build Lazarus" - check clean all and Switch after building to automatically then Build.

After this works open Package -> Open Packagefile and go to  Lazarus/components/dockedformeditor and open the dockedformeditor.lpk. In the package use->install and rebuild Lazarus too.

See the wiki https://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/DockedFormEditor

Edit: See attached picture. After installing both sections are added

I think you are right. Meanwhile I installed another package and DID "Build Lazarus" and now I notice the headers and also the options that were missing before.

Moving the IDE between screens works great!

Thanks for your reply with explanation.
