playing sounds in Lazarus
« on: October 09, 2008, 08:35:26 am »
Hello, I got a few questions about sounds in Lazarus:
- is there any working example for playing a sound file (for example .wav) in Lazarus?
- some time ago I found a web site with lots of pascal source code example programs that had a program capable of generating simple sine wave sounds and save them to .wav files; I can't find that site anymore, can you help me to find such a pascal example?
- I tried to install ACS (Audio Component Suite) in both Lazarus 0.9.24 and latest snapshot (0.9.27 - 20081007) but I get this error:
Line 184,54 - ErrorCheck( FxAudioMediaStream.GetFormat(FxFormat) );
"Call by var for arg no. 1 has to match exactly: Got "TWaveFormatEx" expected WAVEFORMATEX"
So I can not install ACS. is there any solution to install it?
Also, is ACS still in development? the link for "The Bugtracker" on its website is broken (
- what other libraries can be used to play sounds in Lazarus?

Some time ago I managed to play sounds with ACS. Just try to fix the compilation error.

Search the forum, I've ever fixed that error (and others that will come by after you fix it).
