[SOLVED] hint tip anomaly
« on: January 04, 2022, 11:39:54 am »
I have two projects of which approximately 90% of the code is identical, only the UI is different.
In one project the hint tips display as expected, in the second project all the tails of the characters are clipped off, as the attached.
What could possibly be affecting the clipping  :-\

I should have added that this only occurs in Linux Mint 20.2 64 bit, in Linux 32 bit and Windows 10 the hint tip displays as expected.

If this is rendered via a Linux gtk2 widgetset, it is probably related to a gtk2 bug that has been nailed once or twice, but seems to keep recurring.
AFAIK gtk3 does not suffer from it.

thanks for the quick reply.
I could see that it could be a gtk2 bug if all the hint tips of all my projects exhibited the same clipping, but it's just the one project.

I've finally solved this by rebuilding the app from inside another project folder. There must have been some kind of bug/error/whatever wrong with a file I assume within the original folder.  8-) I'll sleep easier tonight  :D
