Using Lazarus IDE for other (computer) languages

(1/1)

MarkMLl:
I'm pretty sure that a few weeks or months ago there was brief discussion of work somebody (external to the FPC/Lazarus projects) was dong to use the Lazarus IDE and/or LCL for at least one other language. Can anybody remember the detail?

This is purely to fill a gap in my memory, I'm not complaining about the status quo (for a change) or suggesting that somebody should be working on something.

Don't think so. Possibly somewhat older, and /not/ just a comparison between Pascal and some other language... somebody referred to a bridge project, possibly to GoLang (or however it's styled) but I can't find it.

(btw, afaik there is a LCL wrapper for golang based on Felipe's original C wrapper, which is also used by users of some smaller Basic projects. Possible that you mixed them up? )

Might have been, although I think there was a specific link given... it might even have been a thread specifically drawing people's attention to the link.

On Github, I note

https://github.com/ying32/govcl
https://github.com/linkonoid/golcl

which appear to be go-riented. If I'm reading it correctly the first of those has at least partial form designer capability but (obviously) no debugger etc. integration.

As I've said though, this is purely curiosity.
