3rd party directory

What's the generally agreed upon directory to install 3rd party pacakages for Lazarus.  I did look at the wiki and didn't see an answer WRT Mac OS

I'd say: Any directory is fine to which you are allowed to write.
Mainly Lazarus trunk / fpc 3.2.0 / all 32-bit on Win-10, but many more...

I describe the Apple-sanctioned guidelines in  the Wiki article Locating macOS significant directories.
