Spin Box Widths in the IDE
« on: July 17, 2021, 02:47:32 pm »
Firing up the IDE for the release candidate 2.2.0RC1 in Arch Linux I noticed that most of the spin boxes are too narrow. This is worst using Gtk2, but also a problem in QT5. A three digit box only shows one character in Gtk2, and shows 2.5 chars with QT5.

Its not a recent regression, going back to the 2.0.12 & 2.0.10 releases and its the same there (using Xfce4 desktop with 12pt font and no custom DPI). It gets much worse with larger fonts.

I tried LazPaint to compare, and there, generally, either the widgets scale with the font, or both are fixed size. On the IDE there is usually plenty of space on the form for wider spin boxes.
