« on: July 01, 2021, 12:58:51 pm »
Hello.

http://free-pascal-general.1045716.n5.nabble.com/

You may test the last posts.

All the mails of Graeme, Michael Van Canneyt, Bart and many others are deleted...

I just thought it was because it was old.
I seen this when searching on google on pascal stuff.

The site looks like from the stone age, and I just thought it was abandoned.

The fpc-pascal mailing list is hosted here with an official archive on Mail Archive. The copy on Nabble is not provided by us. So better ask the administrators of Nabble what is going on.

Nabble is a mirror of mailing lists, updated "live".

The look is Jurassic but it is easy to use.

About the "Deleted by the author", maybe a answer here:

From what I can see at the last few messages that seems to be by design. At least Nabble seems to no longer want to deal with mailing lists and the deleted display is just a side effect of that.

My suggestion: don't use Nabble anymore if you want to interact with the Free Pascal and Lazarus mailing lists.

Yes, it seems that is a problem from Nabble.

And not a targeted attack.

Sorry for the noise (and the fear).

Yes, of course I will do.

But, imho, Nabble could warn its administators-users that it is no longer going to deal with mailing list.
I did not receive any warning (did Leledumbo receive one for nabble-fpc ?)

The other point is that the same happen with nabble forum and this is much more annoying because nabble-forum is not mirror but "original" one.
And I use for some projects nabble-forum.

All that to say: nice that you jumped into Gitlab, but even better, when all is ready, to have your own git server with your own fork of GitLab source.

If it is the case, it is absolutely not respectful, it is terrorist way to target some post-members randomly.

[EDIT]
@PascalDragon: all your mails were deleted with this message:
Quote
"CONTENTS DELETED
The author has deleted this message".
Did you deleted it?
If Yes, ok, no problem.
If No, it is absolutely  >:(  >:D.

Ok, I go walk to chill-out.

Did you even read the thread you linked? The main problem seems to be if you're a Nabble user or not. See this message. I'm not a Nabble user. If that is a bug in their software or by choice is not my part to say.

Hello Sven.

Yes I did read the post and still maintain that it is not respectful, bug or by choice.
A warning to give to all administrators of user-nabble is the minimum to do.
Or change the messages of deleted by something like this:

Quote
"CONTENTS DELETED
The author of this message is not registered, all his messages were deleted."

But sorry for the noise.

But if it's indeed a bug they couldn't expect for something like this to happen. That's the nature of bugs after all.

Hello.

It seems that all the  >:( and  >:D did have effect.

Just now, all the messages are back and all the users too (included Graeme, Sven and friends).
