Some characters are not working in Synedit under Cocoa
« on: June 11, 2021, 05:52:35 pm »
Hi,

i assume this might not be directly related to the widgetset, but if I for example want to press ^ in the synedit (also in the code editor inside the IDE) the KeyDown Event is not fired and the key is not handled. Did somebody else also recognized this problem? I currently compiled the latest trunk.

Hi!

And your OS???

It seems that your key ^ is defined as a "Dead Key". The reason is, that for example the french need it above the letter a or e.

Change your settings in your Operating  System that your ^  is not a dead key anymore.

Big Sur, thanks your hint with the dead keys was right. I wasn't aware of this kind of issue. I added a keyboard layout which does not have these kind of issues and it seem to work.
