Lazarus is on the rise
« on: May 09, 2021, 08:15:12 pm »
After the latest release of Lazarus, I have started using it.
I'm developing a Firebird SQL editor similar to FlameRobin.
Before i developed in Delphi 7. And after the next Delphi versions became expensive, i quit using Delphi.
I must say Lazarus have become very good, and i just having fun using it.
Today, it's like Using Delphi, but as opensource.
I can see that downloads on sourceforge is almost 9000 in a week.
I just become a serious user of Lazarus after i tried it out.
I also think that Delphi will die because of the high prices on it, but not Lazarus and Pascal.

Thanks to all in the Lazarus and pascal teams.
All my best regards.

Hello Fantablup,
Welcome to the forum.

You are right, Lazarus and FPC are very good tools for software development.

I think you may interested to read this:

Thanks Handoko!

I have already read it before i think.
Before i developed one big invoice system in Delphi 7. It was developed for 12 years.
And when Delphi became too expensive, and i wanted it to be for web too, i re-developed it in Javascript and Node js.
Both Delphi and Lazarus is not so good for web development yet. But i hope Lazarus will be better on this.
But for GUI applications, Lazarus is the best in the world.
Delphi is better in many ways, but as nobody can afford it, Lazarus is the best thing.
I hope that Lazarus will focus on web development in the future. But i don't know what the team is thinking.

Now, i'm just so happy to develop the SQL editor in Lazarus. Something i could not do in any other language or editor.

And for embedded systems, Lazarus is also the best tool to use. Fast development with small size, and stable program.

Also, it's cool to create components in it too.
