New Forum Board: Pascal/Lazarus Apps?
« on: March 15, 2021, 01:38:00 pm »
I wonder is there a need for a New Forum Board for Apps that are written/made in Pascal/Lazarus?
For example, if I put some app(s) on the web (gallery), I would like to know what other Pascal/Lazarus progs/devs think of it, is it usefull, get some feedback or so...?
What do you think?

The wiki already has a gallery and is more appropriate for article style presentations anyway.

There is also the Third party announcements board, though it's somewhat limited to ... well, "announcements" ;)
Turbo Pascal 3 CP/M - Amstrad PCW 8256 (512 KB !!!) :P
Lazarus/FPC 2.0.8/3.0.4 & 2.0.12/3.2.0 - 32/64 bits on:
(K|L|X)Ubuntu 12..18, Windows XP, 7, 10 and various DOSes.

This should be sufficient. In my opinion, the combination of a general announcement board with the wiki, where the apps are presented in more detail, is a good approach. More granular discussions on details of the apps would bloat this forum. They should be supported on the webspace provided by the initiators or maintainers of the respective apps.
function GetRandomNumber: integer; // xkcd.com
begin
  GetRandomNumber := 4; // chosen by fair dice roll. Guaranteed to be random.
end;
