It should be on the official website:

https://www.indyproject.org/download/v10/

The documentation is available at https://www.indyproject.org/documentation/, but it has not been updated in a VERY LONG time.

Indy is now at 10.6.2 ...
Indeed a long time. Is the documentation still being maintained?

Did you also add the IndyLaz package as a dependency to your project?

Indy is now at 10.6.2 ...

Indy has been at 10.6.2 for a LONG time (since 2015!), but it has had MANY builds in that timeframe.  Unfortunately, when Indy switched from SVN to GIT in late 2019, the build numbers brokeThat issue has not been resolved yet.

Is the documentation still being maintained?

Not really, no.  It has not been updated since 10.1.5, I believe.  Mainly because the system that originally created the documentation no longer exists, and a replacement was never setup.  The current documentation largely still applies, there there have been a lot of changes made to Indy since that version, mostly internal, some public, but especially in the past decade for Unicode handling, additional platforms, etc, things that have not been documented at all.

Maybe upping the minor version every half year or so? At least that makes it easy to spot real old versions.

Not the minor version, no.  Maybe the Release version, though.

I'm thinking of switching Indy over to Semantic Versioning in Indy 11, since that is what GitHub releases typically use.  Just not sure how I want to handle Indy 10 yet, since it has been using the traditional "Major.Minor.Release.Build" model for so long.

I am looking for a recent example on how to send email with Indy.

What is wrong with using older examples?  Email systems haven't changed that much over the years.  The semantics are mostly still the same - create a TIdMessage with the desired content, connect a TIdSMTP to an SMTP server, and Send() the TIdMessage.  What more do you want?
