At least, it is not a bad idea to inform the user why IDE hangs and shows a message (ask for key enter) that you can not do anything except stopping the compilation.

If you use {$WAIT}  you are supposed to know what you are doing.
So you know you should not use that in a RAD GUI environment.

Don't know about you, young fellow, but if I'd not wasted quite so much time providing support to customers and colleagues who were "supposed to know what they're doing" I'd probably be lining myself up for a comfortable retirement.

Which is exactly what I am doing...(from my own money, have to {$wait} another 3 years for state pension support....)  O:-) :P

As stated in the report, Lazarus will not support this {$WAIT}.
Use breakpoints or FPC itself as a workaround.
