Vim and ptop for code formatting
« on: April 29, 2021, 02:33:48 pm »
I'm trying to set up Vim for daily coding and I'm using the ALE linter plugin, along with ptop, for code formatting.
My current set up is detailed at tinyurl.com/CyberFilth

I don't like how ptop capitalised the first letter of keywords so I've amended the config file. It runs from ptop -c new.cfg, but now I'm trying to get this to work with ALE in Vim.
Has anyone tried using ALE? It doesn't appear to allow you to specify a config file for linters.

Alternatively, does anyone know if there's a way to force ptop to use an external config file, on Linux, without having to specify it as an option?
Is it possible to overwrite the default config file, for instance?
Running Windows 10 & Xubuntu 20.04 | Lazarus 2.0.12 | FPC 3.2.0
