LibQtxPas: dynamic or static library
« on: November 11, 2020, 08:09:34 pm »
Hi,

Quick question: LibQTxPas library is linked dynamically or statically to our applications? How can I switch the linking method? I would prefer static linking for portability reasons and to avoid the requirement of installing new libraries in the target OS, though the size of the final binary will get larger..

regards,
Raúl

Dynamically.

Its available in most distros but some of the older ones, U16.04, U18.04 for example, have an older and non functional version. See https://github.com/davidbannon/libqt5pas

It's dynamic. I've alredy tried to build Qt5 and libQt5Pas statically (linux 64 and win32) and it works but it have problems with qt plugins, also I could not get to work theme plugins - it uses ugly win95 style under windows and fusion under linux.
