Add units for Fp Ide
« on: September 24, 2020, 05:08:37 pm »
Hello, I installed fpc and fp-units-i386 on Ubuntu 16 to work with fp ide. When I compile my Lazarus project using FP I'm getting unit errors such as FiIeUtil and MyCustomApp.

I've looked at this page: Unit not found - How to find units

however it's too complicated for me. How can I fix this error?

Then you installed it wrong: apt-get install fpc also installs fp-units.

Specialize a type, not a var.

FileUtil is a lazarus unit, not a FPC unit.

Do I need to add them manually? Can I install Lazarus since I don't have a desktop or window manager?

You can still install it, just can't run the IDE, but the rest of the packages, as long as they're not visual ones, can still be used.

He can run the IDE perfectly easily by tunneling X11 through SSH.
