I would first check file permission. Then is it corrupted.

Is this helps?

I don't think, he already checked the permissions. The above project come from me, and he just decompressed it, and he can open the SQLite file in his DB Browser and any file in his text editor. I'll ask him to be sure.

Then I would reinstall FPC and Lazarus.

Anyway, once I have failing HDD electronic and all kind of random weirdnesses happens...
Perhaps to check it's integrity?

Nowadays, with SSDs, it is not impossible that it failing as well.

He already try to unsinstall and reinstall twice without success. His Mac is New so i don't think is due to his HDD. I'll ask him to check the integrity as well.

Ask him also to install other RAD, for instance NetBeans and test how it behaves.

Related problem is failing on unstable RAM. But, since the hardware is new, I have no more ideas.

I would suspect this is related to the new Catalina user privacy protections.

Check Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy - Full Disk Access. If Lazarus is listed, check the box next to it. If Lazarus is not listed, add it to the list and check the box next to it. You may then have to logout and login again.

Alternatively, move the project directory from the Downloads directory to the user directory. The privacy protections do not extend to the user directory. The new protected areas in Catalina:
* Desktop
* Documents
* Downloads
* iCloud Drive
* Third-party cloud storage (Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, etc.)
* Removable volumes
* Network volumes.

Probably not it, but a while back I had issues with other people opening projects I had made on their systems, and it turned out to be that I use trunk for most development but they had installed through the installer. Anyways, there is a project setting for "maximize compatability" (the name might be slightly different) that I had to turn on then save. Once I did that projects would open just fine.

Hi, thanks

But, he uninstalled and reinstalled once again Lazarus. He give and set the security rights. Nothing to do. He can't open project. He tried by made just an app with a button and saved it.
The same project won't be opened.
It seems Lazarus have a problem with MacOS BIG

Best regards

Do you mean the macOS Big Sur Beta?

If so, then what I have already posted above are the two solutions - either add the Lazarus excecutable to Full Disk Access or move the project directory out of the user privacy protected Downloads directory.

See my attached image (from Big Sur Beta 3). Lazarus then has no problem opening projects in user privacy protected directories.
