Lazarus running with a Sonic icon!
« on: July 15, 2020, 11:30:05 am »
Hello!

Every compliment for this great piece of software, runs fast, looks great, especially the docking of windows. Very clean and simple to use.

There was only one thing I didn't like and that is the program gear-icon. Looks confined, and too cold. That's why I used a resource hacker program, and changed my exe icon to Sonic. Here is a screenshot:

and the icon, if you want to do the same thing!

That looks good.

But just to warn you, Sonic the Hedgehog is a mascot character owned by Sega. We should not use it as our own product logo.

Did you use Lazarus to build the program? If yes, you can change it by:
Lazarus main menu > Project > Project Options > Application > Load Icon

He just changed the icon in the Lazarus exec and Lazarus is GPL licensed so you can do whatever you want with it in your own computer without having to call a lawyer. ;D

Note also that one could easily change the icon with the OS tools (say, in the properties of the file or soft link or whatever) and the result would be mostly the same; I do it all the time for launchers with different PCPs using the normal blue cheetah, the dark-blue one, the orangey, ... It's not that much of a deal.
