Wiki Spam Filter
« on: May 17, 2020, 02:38:30 am »
I tried to add this:

Code: Text  [Select][+][-]
  1. * A very simple [https://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,20726.0.html loan calculator]

entry to the How-To Portal listing while editing the whole page and saving the page was prevented by the Spam filter suggesting the site was blacklisted.

Instead, I edited the General section of the page and it was saved without complaint.

As the page is a page of links to the Forum, are there now too many links causing on the page and this is causing the the spam filter to activate?

Trying open for edit and saving even without any changes causes message:

Spam protection filter

The text you wanted to save was blocked by the spam filter. This is probably caused by a link to a blacklisted external site.

I have no idea why.

Urgh! Just like in programming you’ll have to gradually locate the potential mistake, line by line:

It was “phone number”. Phone numbers are evil. https://wiki.freepascal.org/Special:Diff/136478

I hope I’m allowed to say phone number here without the forum telling me I’m trying to insert spam.  :)
Yours Sincerely

Same problem as above. The word loan is evil. https://wiki.freepascal.org/Special:Diff/136480

The spam filter is really too sensitive.

Do you know if editing a section of a whole page bypasses the spam filter? Once I edited only a section, it allowed me to add the "loan"  item without a complaint.
