try sending a keyup message for the alt key to your mainform winproc when it looses focus.

is it? how did you come with that conclusion? As far as I remember delphi had the same problem even notepad had the same problem. Keep in mind that the behavior you describing was introduced in windows XP.

I have Windows 10. And neither Notepad, nor the Lazarus IDE have that issue.

In Notepad, if I use alt (no tab) to get to the menu, and then change focus by mouse, the menu is "unfocused", and stays that way if I return to notepad.

Same with the IDE. (trunk)

For good measure. Empty form with menu. Also ok.
