web framework
« on: October 05, 2020, 05:19:44 pm »
hello kind people,

can I ask?

Does exists, what is, the best web programming framework for FPC/Linux?

With routing, views, templates, mvc, database pooling, orm...

A modern and battle-tested framework?

thanks

btw. now I'm using https://www.phoenixframework.org/ over Erlang (that's fantastic, still missing a little a pascal toolchain)

Hello,

Afaik, Lazarus has a web framework named fpWeb: https://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/fpWeb_Tutorial.
use: Linux 64 bits (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS).
Lazarus version: 2.0.4 (svn revision: 62502M) compiled with fpc 3.0.4 - fpDebug \ Dwarf3.

Confusingly, there are two of these: Brook Free Pascal is pure Pascal, while the newer one by the same author is known as Brook Framework and uses a C library through FFI.

I deliberately skip it. When it comes to personal projects, I'm a kind of purist. Any other language influence is considered a dirt :P
