Very nice, but, ahem, and C++ ?

Lazarus seems to be a beautifull piece of software, and I intend to install it as soon as I have the time.

That said, is it possible to run Lazarus with another compiler, maybe GCC ?

Don't get mad, everybody, it's just a question.

This question has been asked before.
Lazarus is written in Object Pascal and could only work with that kind of compilers.
GCC is a C compiler and i think linking C compiled code with FPC(FreePascal, the current Lazarus compiler) programs is possible but won't be implemented automaticaly in Lazarus, i also think there is a issue about linking C code because of frequent changes of name mangling in the GCC compiler.
The future must be... Fast and OpenSource so...
Think Open and Lightning Fast!
