Multi-selections for Ctrl+Shift+Right
« on: January 27, 2020, 10:33:13 pm »
Often i do this: put N carets vertically, press Home to go to text beginning, then i neeed to select first chars / first word. In CudaText, i can press Shift+Right (select N chars in all carets) or Ctrl+Shift+Right (select first words at all carets).
In IDE i cannot do this.

The lazarus IDE only supports a single selection.

The Alt-shift selection is a single selection (even pre dates multi caret). It is called column mode selection.
Copy and paste of a column mode selection acts different than a normal selection.

In trunk lazarus supports "adding" to clipboard.
So you can make a selection, and add it to the content of the clipboard (IIRC space separated).

You can also add lines, without the need of selecting them.
