Strip debug info and/or compress Mac binaries?
« on: January 07, 2008, 10:23:14 pm »
When building apps for Windows I usually strip debug info etc to make the binary size significantly smaller, and sometimes I even compress it after doing that as well ...

Is there a trick like that for Mac apps generated with Lazarus?

You can use strip with Free Pascal executables on OS X too.

When you generate your disk image file (.dmg) for distribution you can compress the files there to minimize the size of the .dmg file.

Thanks.
