Which Tutorial is best for a Complete Beginner to Free Pascal?
« on: January 18, 2020, 07:43:41 am »
Hello,

I'm a complete beginner to Free Pascal and Pascal as well.

I do however write code in Turing, which is from the same language family as Pascal. So I'm not a beginner to programming, just a beginner to Pascal.

Where do I start? :)

I always recommend http://www.marcocantu.com/epascal/default.htm essential pascal. You can also download the sourcecode.
And although Delphi centric,  the code works in {$mode delphi} with FreePascal and with the delphi import feature of Lazarus.

Specialize a type, not a var.

I totally agree with this suggestion. You should read the above book first. Then the last book of the same author cited in the past thread I suggested, that covers advanced concepts of object pascal, as oop. Both are avalable for free.
