[SOLVED]PDF documentation download
« on: January 11, 2020, 02:32:35 am »
Am trying to download PDF documentation, from the free Pascal documentation page.  The problem I'm having is that the PDF links point to an FTP site requiring logon credentials.  Which I don't have.  Where do you register for documentation access?

Are you using this page: https://www.freepascal.org/docs.html  ?  I downloaded all the PDFs with no issue (Safari in macOS).

It might be that you use some mirror that changed the permissions on its site.

If trev's advise solved it for you, please mention what mirror you used before.

Yes - that's where I'm attempting to download; I'm trying to download a manual to my android phone.  I'm getting prompted for ftp credentials.  Screen dump is attached.

I think that is normal. There is always an FTP prompt, but Web clients  (browsers) autologin as anonymous user, and normal textual clients see a message that explains how to do that. Somehow your mobile ftp client does neither.

Try using user "ftp"  (without quotes) and your email address as password.
