What is a status of Gecko (FireFox) component?
« on: December 12, 2019, 09:52:48 pm »
Hi,

I remember that 2-3 years ago I successfully used Gecko component described here:
https://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/GeckoPort_version2

But seems that it is not supported anymore. I can't even find it in Lazarus CCR repository. XUL link seems to be also marked as archive by Mozilla.
Here someone says that Gecko is not developed any more by Mozilla:
https://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,35199.msg232496.html#msg232496
They changed it to Servo, but my recent research finding it in name Quantum. Do we have anything for this in Lazarus? Anyone familiar with the subject?

Note: I'm not interested in Chromium engine, it must be embedded FireFox

Regards.

Edit: Here also info that Gecko is deprecated: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Gecko/Embedding_Mozilla/FAQ/Embedding_Gecko

Edit2: Downloaded and tested binary on Linux. Seems to working fine: https://servo.org/ . But how to embedd it in Lazarus app? There is some rust and glutin stuff
