Strange Editing Behavior In TDbGrid

Lazarus v2.1.0 r62290
Widgetset Cocoa
Target CPU Family x86_64

When editing in a TDBGrid, the first character you type is hi-lighted and will be overwritten when you type your second character.  When tabbing to the next field, the same thing happens.  Doesn’t happen if quick editing is off (-[dgAlwaysShowEditor]).  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
