lazmouseandkeyinput Linux mint 19.2 (SOLVED)
« on: November 06, 2019, 06:54:19 pm »
Hi,

I am using:
 - Linux Mint Xfce 64 bit
 - Lazarus 2.0.6 64 bit
 - FPC 3.0.4

I create a new project. I compile without any error. The project show an empty form as expected.  I build and add /usr/share/lazarus/2.0.6/components/mouseandkeyinput/lazmouseandkeyinput.lpk.   I try to compile again and this is the error message I receive:

project1.lpr(21,1) Error: Error while linking

This is the code generated by lazarus after I added lazmouseandkeyboardinput:

project1.lpr:
Code: Pascal  [Select][+][-]
  1.
  2. program Project1;
  3.
  4. {$mode objfpc}{$H+}
  5.
  6. uses
  7.   {$IFDEF UNIX}{$IFDEF UseCThreads}
  8.   cthreads,
  9.   {$ENDIF}{$ENDIF}
  10.   Interfaces, // this includes the LCL widgetset
  11.   Forms, unit1, lazmouseandkeyinput
  12.   { you can add units after this };
  13.
  14. {$R *.res}
  15.
  16. begin
  17.   RequireDerivedFormResource:=True;
  18.   Application.Scaled:=True;
  19.   Application.Initialize;
  20.   Application.CreateForm(TForm1, Form1);
  21.   Application.Run;
  22. end.
  23.
  24.

I originally tried with the version of lazarus shipped with my operating system, Lazarus 1.8.2 and FPC 3.0.4. I had the same issue and this is why I installed the last version.

Anyone know how to fix this issue?

I can't find libxtst but installing libxtst-dev seems to fix the issue. Thank you:)

for future reference:

sudo apt-get install libxtst-dev
