LazReport problems [Solved only on Windows]
« on: December 12, 2007, 08:36:42 am »
It is normal that lazreport uses up to 30 seconds to print a page?

I'm using:

FPC 2.0.4
Lazarus 0.9.22
CUPS 1.2.8
All are working on a Linux Mint 3.1 (UBUNTU 7.04)

It is better to use PowerPDF to create reports with an acceptable speed?

Of course I'll have to do everything by hand but I think that is not a titanic job
since reports that I must create are very simple.

Thanks to all

I guess it depends on your report :)
Without any context it is hard to tell

I have the same problem with the demo PRG that came with LazReport
and too if I print on a PDF with CUPS.

On windows installing the latest version of Lazarus seems to run well and very fast.
Perhaps this is the solution.
Today even I try on Linux

On Linux mint 3.1 does not work even with the latest version of lazarus.
The problem is not generation but the press report.
When LazReport launches print it devours all system resources and the printer does not print anything.
The system becomes unusable and the disc insane !

 :?

For the moment I use PowerPDF that seem work

This sound familiar, see http://www.freepascal.org/mantis/view.php?id=9463

It is possible
In fact I tried on a Ubuntu 7.10 and demo print even though the editor of the report is behaving strangely and sometimes goes crash.
I performed the test with lazarus 09.22 and fp 2.0.4 .

When I can I try with the latest version of fpc and lazarus.
For the moment, thanks to all
