Now what?
« on: October 14, 2019, 08:38:02 pm »
OK, I managed to download and install the files:
  • fpc-src_3.0.4-2_amd64.deb,
  • fpc-laz_3.0.4-1_amd64.deb and
  • lazarus-project_2.0.4-0_amd64.deb
Possibly in this order (does it matter?)
No errors reported.
Now what? How do I run it? where was it installed?

It should be in your Applications menu, in "Programming Tools" (or however it's called in your distro).

Lazarus's files should be installed in /usr/share/lazarus/, fpc's in /usr/lib/fpc/ and fpc-src's in /usr/share/fpcsrc/.
Turbo Pascal 3 CP/M - Amstrad PCW 8256 (512 KB !!!) :P
Lazarus/FPC 2.0.8/3.0.4 & 2.0.12/3.2.0 - 32/64 bits on:
(K|L|X)Ubuntu 12..18, Windows XP, 7, 10 and various DOSes.

Open a terminal and type "startlazarus".

Hmm! There is no "Programming Tools" or anything like it. (But I have a feeling that there once was.)

OK, thanks. Found them.
