ExecuteDirect and Unicode

Hi.
In my program I'm using the ExecuteDirect procedure on a ODBC Connection (TODBCConnection).

In Insert Into or Update SQL statements, unicode fields values are not saved in the right way.
I've to create a parameter query to write data specifying the parameter DataType as ftWideString to see the correct values.

I'm using Lazarus 1.8.4 on Windows 7 and ODBC as DB access.
