Search inside single forum
« on: September 07, 2019, 01:52:41 am »
Please see this as a beginner question. I'm used to PHPbbX forums and appreciate the Search in Forum functionality, because it's what sets forums apart from mere websites and things like Facebook groups.

I looked for such a functionality but can't find it, only Search at the top which doesn't have it.

Is it there, but I'm just not finding it? :) If not, could it be enabled somehow?

While the forum search (down on left hand side of page) does work, another possibility is to use Google's (or DDG's) smarter search algorithms.  Open a new browser window and put in (eg)

site:https://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/ trayIcon xubuntu

The first bit tells it to search only that site, can be very focused.

Edit: Well. I found it.  :-[ For some reason the website's UI doesn't click with me, or I'm in too much of a hurry.

What you do is, when using Search at the top, or using Advanced Search in the sidebar, click to fold out the thing that looks like a heading/divider, and there are the forums.
