General conversation new to Postings
« on: September 02, 2019, 04:09:44 am »
Hello I am new to postings but have been tracking and using Lazaus/fpc for four - 04 years now. This is just a posting to say that i love this program and in the mist of writing my own productivity suite. I have nine - 9 apps that are to be associated with this office suite that i am currently creating. I have used Turbo Pascal years ago from version 3.0, 4.0.5.0 and version 7. I stopped writing code in 1995 and started up again in 2015. I have been tracking many posts on and off and is usually the first site i visit when coming on line. This form has helped me in more ways in one during those years when i started writing code again. I have plans in the future to attempt to write an operating system that will rival windows.  Starting with a simple app to run atop of Windows 7 / 64 bit that i am currently using. I am using Laz version 2.04 with the latest FPC. Began coding using Laz 1.2 when i restarted. All of my apps will have the ability to be run as standalone and in conjunction to its launching desktop. I am also writing a programmers tool box as well that is inhouse use only. Just wanted to say to those in whom have written Lazarus and FPC GREAT JOB.

Hello Wayne Dixon,
Welcome to the forum.

You started to use TP since version 3.0, you must be very experienced in programming. As you already know Lazarus/FPC are open source, it needs volunteers. Please join the community to make it better.

Welcome to forum and I hope you will start your nice wishes. As you know to create a OS is long way journey my advise examine other OSes at first like as :

- ReactOS (like as windows 95 ; wine based)   https://reactos.org/
- Linux distros : https://distrowatch.com/
- Some kernels like written by pascal : https://wiki.freepascal.org/Operating_Systems_written_in_FPC
