RIP Wolfgang Ehrhardt aka Gammatester
« on: June 27, 2019, 07:07:03 pm »
Just read on the German Delphi forum that Wolfgang Ehrhardt better known here as Gammatester passed away. A big loss for the Pascal community, he will be sorely missed.

Some of you - especially those who have dealt with encryption and some more complicated mathematical procedures - may know him.

I do not know how long his website http://www.wolfgang-ehrhardt.de/index.html  will be online.
If you want to try your Pascal code on math, cryptography, etc., you should look around there. Wolfgang has provided his code with a very generous license so that no one should have trouble using the code in his projects.
He has also made sure that his code is compilable in Turbo-Pascal, Delphi and Free-Pascal. For example, last year he optimized his code for use on the Raspberry.

RIP my mentor even though I never knew you personally.  :'( :'(

Hm... I really respected him on mathematical matters.
From his website:
"News
Dec. 28, 2018
For health reasons, there will be no updates in the next few weeks."

Well eternity is just a few weeks it seems.

That is a great loss indeed.

My condolences to the family.

p.s. He lives on in the wiki: he added some exceptional articles.

I just spent an hour at the Way Back Machine (aka archive.org) caching missing files/pages from his web site. Always worth doing if you think a site may disappear.

@xinyiman
Lost in translation...
Your meaning, I'm sure, was "a serious loss", a sentiment with which I concur.

My condolences to his family and friends.

He had a bright mathematical mind. It is a sad loss for the Pascal community.
