That's a little white lie. In the Netherlands from first week of July. 1 and 2 G are in stock right now.

if you have one, please note the amount of memory and the time to build a snapshot in this thread  :)

I see that SOS has them as of around 26 of june. But maybe that's an optimistic estimate.

Nice, but breaking some layout - so actual only 3B+ for me. Maybe they will be cheaper :-)

On the raspberri pi blog are instructions to cutaway one side of a 3b+ box to expose the new USB-C power supply and both the micro hdmi ports. The other three sides have the same layout.
The price of the older models 3B(+) will stay $35, just as the Pi 2 B+ is still $35 excluding taxes.
The reasons are: industrial use and a diminishing economy of scale. There are less production runs for these models. (They keep only limited stock)
Info about pricing for older models is on the Raspberry Pi website.

Note that you have to expect some niggles, because not all software is already ported to the new RaspBian you need.
Also I read some - varying - rumors that the high resolution video play back is not yet up to scratch.
OTOH the new VC6 GPU seems more standard and better accessible than the olf VC4 GPU.
I also ordered a passive heat sink, since the CPU seems to run quite hot at full load.

Well, have to test all that in the weekend (hopefully)

I got my Pi 4 with 4Gb few days ago, and I am impressed with time it needs to boot into desktop. It really is faster.

Judging to 2 HDMI ports foundation seams to favor kiosk usage. Too bad RetroPie can not yet run on Pi4.

Since I am more interested in electronics, PocketBeagle with natural ADCs, CAN bus and real time PRUs is still my favorite...

I twice ordered a beagle bone:
One is pushing up daisies and the other one is gone to meet its maker (*). Both are ex-beagle bones...  :(
Maybe I was unlucky, but from my point of view built quality lacks.

Good plain old RasPi 3B(+) here https://www.mass.de/en/products/industrial-all-in-one-pcs/product-details/rpi-07.html

Industrial RasPi  O:-) , but actual no Version 4. But with the needed more current and the changed powerconnector / PCB layout it will need some time. ANd there a actual no information about the heating of the V4 in this case. So we will wait, because the greater memory and the speed are no keyfeatures for the target.

RPi4 designer thought only 1 resistor is enough for USB-C, but he was wrong and some 3rd party chargers can not power properly your RPi4. To be safe you might want to order original charger. I have 2 USB-C third party chargers and both work with Rpi4 under load. Not tested with hats and power hungry USB peripherals. I might just be lucky...
