Not showing Linker Error

Im trying to link a C object file and I am getting a general linker error.  However, it shows an error very briefly on the messages window, but then it disappears and shows the general linker error.  How do I get the messages screen to show everything?

you can right click on the messages window and select "copy all/original messages" and then paste in to a text editor.
