An whole new TMemo in OSX ?
« on: March 12, 2019, 08:21:29 am »
Folks, chasing some strange behaviour in my app, I made a simple app to demonstrate my problem. A TMemo on a form. I wanted to see the (poor mac user) equivalent of a right-click.

What I see rocked me !  Ctrl-Click in the TMemo and the click is not passed through to TMemo, it triggers a custom popup menu that offers me things like, well, see attached....

While that functionality is cool, it prevents us from popping up our own (terribly well designed) menu. And it makes a problem for "cross platform" ....

And this plush new menu works too, note I swung my text around 90 degrees !

I also note its pretty slow. You need to work on an old machine to know those things ....

Anyone know if this change is intentional ? A good thing ?

If you select a word you get even this
You treat a disease, you win, you lose.
You treat a person and I guarantee you, you win, no matter the outcome.

"Its TMemo Caption, but not as we know it"

No mention of TMemo changes in 2.0.0 release notes. I see this issue in both 2.0.0 and 2.0.1

I think I need to report it as a bug. I think .....
