What is the relation between the question on the subject and if there is a need to test all widgetsets?

Well, I use Mandriva, and I generally don't test a software with all widgetsets possible. I just need one that works for each platform. For one software I may use win32 for windows, gtk2 for linux and qt for Mac OS X.

For another project I may decide to go, for example, with win32 on windows, gtk1 on linux and carbon on Mac OS X

1 widgetset for each platform you support is more then enougth.

You corrected my mistake (qt for Mac OS X), I felt QT is like as GTK found in Linux, because i saw there is a QT programming in Linux.

I not need to test in all platform, but just like to be comfortable with a Linux, and have no limitation.
For example i can Compile my project for GTK+Win32 etc...

You know Linux for me it still new world.

[OFFTOPIC]
I can not test on Mac (because it is not found in my country or it is very expensive).

Its best to avoid QT as you need a commercial license if you intend to sell your product(s). I would sooner use GTK+(LGPL) and Native widget sets.
The Mac OS X/LCL's are still under development as far as I know and will need fine tuning to get rid of all the bugs (if I had the time and a good grasp of PASCAL I would help but I do have a day job).

The Qt interface works on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

The Gtk1 interface works on Linux and Mac OS X

Gtk2 could theoretically work on all 3, but at the moment it's mostly tested with linux

As you can see there are many interfaces that work on several platforms.

Both Qt and Gtk can be considered native interfaces on Linux.

Well, if you are new to Linux I advise to ask questions about whatever problem you have on the Linux Questions forum:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/

When I was starting with linux it was asking questions there that got me going when I was lost about how to get something done.

Also, take some time to read the stiky posts on the mandriva sub-forum. Some have important information:

I am using Mint3.1 and It work very well.
Mint is a distribution derived from Ubuntu but with all the codec already installed therefore you will not have problems of MP3 DVD etc.

This is not a problem because is sufficient to install from the official repos of the distribution the FreePascal and then download the .deb package of lazarus and the source of freepascal from sourceforge, simple .

In fact i choosed Ubunto/ or Mint after last post, but Ubunto not installed in my computer, so for test and in this day in installed Mandriva, and this post from Firefox in Mandriva.

The next step i will try, it is download the FPC first and compile Lazarus not install it, because i have last source of it (SVN), so why download it as like as i do in XP.

Mandriva is a good distribution.
I am pleased that you have decided to switch to Linux and therefore welcome.
You will see that freedom that gives you Linux and its potential not disappoint you, you will get only a little effort at the beginning.
