Persistent Clipboard
« on: December 27, 2016, 01:15:31 pm »
Hello, I am trying to make what I copy to the clipboard persistent after my application closes but my google-fu failed me on this and I can't seem to find out how. As soon as the app exits, the associated clipboard data is cleared.
Any tips would be helpful.

This is a GUI application, and I'm using XFCE if that matters.

My first google-fu leaded me to this.

...
The clipboard manager allows the system to have a persistent clipboard.
...
From that i conclude: install a clipboard manager that allows for a persistent clipboard.

Yes I could install a clipboard manager...
But without one, regular applications: editor, browser, etc... (basically anything installed on my system) can already do this. So there must be a solution without having to install any 3rd-party program.

Thanks molly, very interesting link. Too bad many of the links are dead but it gives me some great pointers to look for more info.
