Using Cinnamon Sound Applet
« on: December 06, 2015, 01:55:23 pm »
HI,

I would like to add support for the Cinnamon (Linux Mint) sound applet, so I can show CD Cover and use the command buttons.
I do not find the right information on how to implement the needed code in Lazarus.
Be the difference that makes a difference

I do not use Cinnamon but i think that, as in others DM, sound applet uses the MPRIS D-BUS Interface http://specifications.freedesktop.org/mpris-spec/latest/

FPC D-BUS implementation is very low lovel and quite hard to use.

You could look at the MPRIS2 code i've written for OvoPlayer: https://github.com/varianus/ovoplayer/blob/master/src/platform/linux/mpris2.pas

Hi Varianus,

Thanks. I will take a good look at your code and try to implement it in my code (https://sourceforge.net/p/xixmusicplayer/svn/HEAD/tree/)
I like your idea of using different audio engines too.  Nice work.
