A LED matrix comp would be a logical addition to Industrial package, if somebody wants to make it.

hello,
in progress TLedMatrix   LCL component from Graeme's component fpg_ledmatrix

It's true , it's just the first try to animate, experimental work , need more time and some other brains  to find the correct code to implement this. I can post the code here if someone want to play with it. But First, ask to Graeme, if it is OK to use part of his code   :-\

I am interesting. (actually I have another one using a big library: GR32).
I also have an old led library for delphi6, but it should in my old disk, if I found I will send that here.

There is a license text included somewhere in his code. The license alone set the rules here.
We have seen weird comments earlier here, for example that somebody follows the license but is doing morally wrong. Uhhh...
Mostly Lazarus trunk and FPC 3.2 on Manjaro Linux 64-bit.

Thanks for asking. The fpGUI widgets are covered by the LGPL 2 with static linking exception. So you are welcome to port it to LCL as long as the license stays the same. I would appreciated a unit header comment stating where it originated from (as a nice gesture - not a license requirement). I have done this for parts of LCL I have borrowed and used in fpGUI.

Thanks for replies, could anyone suggest a free application for generating a gif file from screenshots?

I like the animated led matrix further up this thread by Jurassic Pork. I tried downloading "free gif maker" from dvd videosoft but it hangs on my XP machine. Anything for XP/ubuntu would be great, thanks.

Your scrolling is not quite right. In the mean time I've improved the LEDMatrix in fpGUI and added correct horizontal scrolling support.

NOTE:
The LEDMatrix colour and scroll smoothness is off in the video, and was not like that in real life. I clearly need practice recording and encoding videos. ;-)

I've documented that years ago when I created the animated gifs for the Lazarus Wiki page. :-)
