Mplayer seek noise issue

Hi Everyone

I'm having a problem with Mplayer and the progress bar I have implemented to track/control TMplayer everytime I fast forward, rewind etc it makes this horrible static crackling noise and I wanted to know is there a way to stop this? Even when I mute TMplayer and use the progress bar to move around it unmutes and makes that weird sound and its mad IRRITATING!

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
