New installation cannot install LazReport

I selected the package LazReport component and when I hit Install it stops with the error:

Error: Cam't create object file: /home/ha/.lazarus/units/i386-linux/lazconf.o

The reality is that after .lazarus, there is not such path.

How do we continue with this?

I'm on Ubuntu 12.04

I got the new version of Lazarus + FPC from the website and it installed well and works well.

So I gues that was a problem (bug) with the old installation.
