I cannot install LazRreport
« on: October 28, 2013, 04:41:48 pm »
I have opened the package file for LazReport.

However, I cannot find the INSTALL button to continue. There is compile but no Install.

Is this a new feature or a bug? How do I proceed?

OK I've found the Install button hidden in the USE button.

However, when I hit install, it tries to do some compiling and finally lands on this message:

Unable to create directory /home/ha/.lazarus/units/i386-linux/gtk2

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really starting to think if jumping on to Lazarus was a BAD MISTAKE :(

This is my worst Ubuntu experience in years.

I have just lost a project because of some crazy Lazarus bug.

Anyway, I fixed this problem that said "can't compile"...

I had manually created those folders and I did a CHOWN to take ownership of my folders.

It reminds me of the old PHP days where we used to ignorantly change folder permissions to get things working :/
